Summary

Pointe Percée is the highest peak of the Aravis massif (2752m), it is also one of the most beautiful. Its normal route is already akin to a magnificent vertigo trail, but it is by climbing its aesthetic northeast ridge, called the finger ridge that we suggest you reach the top , an aerial climb with an incredible atmosphere but of moderate difficulty.

We will start from the Col des Ânes at 1721m, at the terminus of the road which passes to the village of Grand Bornand. From here our goal is visible, in front of us. Up there stands the Pointe Percée and its ridge which looms in the sky, on which we will climb! At dawn, we will set off on a path that winds its way through the blueberry fields. After 1h30 we will pass in front of the Pointe Percée refuge where we will make a brief stop. Here ibex are not uncommon! It is possible to spend the night there the day before the race to enjoy this beautiful place and shorten the day of the ascent. Contact us for details. From the refuge we will have 1 hour of walking left in a much more mineral universe, made of lapiaz, these large rocky slabs on which erosion has channeled. Here we are finally at the foot of the river. ; ridge, ready for the adventure! We will line up to tackle a few pitches of climbing bringing us to the very edge of the ridge, sometimes very narrow. Do you dare to stand there? The atmosphere is unique, with to our left the sun and Mont Blanc, to the right the shade, in front of us the summit. The climb is nevertheless easy (level 3-4), before straightening up for a length of 5c, then very quickly we will reach the summit cross! There we will take the time to have a well-deserved snack and to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the whole of the Alps. Then comes the moment of the descent by the normal route, first ridge then quickly becoming a steep path where we will meet the hikers. 1h30 later we will return to the refuge, then another 45mins walk and we will arrive at the parking lot of the Col des Ânes where we can admire our course, sitting on the terrace with a welcome beer!
