Sustainable Business Charter
The Grand Annecy area has adopted a Sustainable Tourism Development Plan to address current environmental, social and economic challenges. This strategic framework, supported by the local authority, aims to shift practices towards tourism that is more respectful of the area, its inhabitants and nature.
As part of this initiative, the Lake Annecy Tourism Office has launched its own CSR initiative, mobilising its teams around concrete actions.
It was in this spirit that the Sustainable Business Charter (Acteur engagé) was created, a support tool offered to all partners in the region wishing to join the movement.
Why a Sustainable Business Charter?
Many professionals in the region (whether certified or not) are already taking action to promote the environment, accessibility, or the local economy.
The purpose of this charter is to:
- promote existing efforts
- encourage new, simple and concrete initiatives
- create a local network of responsible tourism stakeholders
- strengthen the sustainable image of the region and its stakeholders
What are the principles of the Sustainable Business Charter?
The Sustainable Business Charter is open to everyone: accommodation providers, restaurants, activity providers, shops…
It is based on concrete commitments, divided into major themes:
- waste, water and energy management
- biodiversity preservation
- responsible purchasing and local economy
- sustainable food
- customer awareness
- a simple and motivating points system
The Lake Annecy Tourism Office will assist you throughout the process:
- a dedicated advisor to guide you through the completion of the charter
- group sessions to exchange ideas with other committed stakeholders
Communication kit
Each signatory receives a kit to highlight their commitment:
- a Sustainable Business Charter sticker to display in your shop window or on your counter
- visibility on the Lake Annecy Tourismt Office’s media (website, maps, events)
- inclusion in the directory of service providers involved in eco-friendly events in Grand Annecy
