Opening period

From 01/01 to 31/12.
Every day in July and August. For the rest of the year, information on the website. Cancelled if cloudy.

Description

Enjoy an evening by Lake Annecy as you observe the Moon, stars, planets and other celestial bodies with the naked eye and through a 400 mm or 300 mm telescope.

From the Semnoz at 1700m altitude, or during an overnight stay in a refuge at the summit of Parmelan at 1800m, you'll be guided to discover the mysteries of our Universe.
These observation evenings are limited to 14 people for maximum efficiency.

For photographers, learn the techniques of night photography, the stars and the Milky Way, and create your own celestial landscapes. These night photography courses take place over the course of an evening around Lake Annecy.

After more than 20 years' experience in astronomy and astrophotography, I offer the public the chance to share my experience of "nightscapes", which combine a landscape with the local sky.
All you need for these workshops is knowledge of basic photographic techniques: sensitivity, speed, aperture, and a reflex or hybrid camera with remote control. Apart from this minimum, the workshops are open to all enthusiasts wishing to discover or perfect their night photography techniques.
The workshop is limited to 2 people for maximum efficiency.

Your provider

A lifelong enthusiast of photography, Philippe Jacquot discovered astronomy in 1998 as a prelude to the total solar eclipse in France the following year. The combination of these two activities became an obvious choice for him, to share through images the moments of fullness and emotion offered by these nocturnal ambiences as they can be observed with the naked eye.
A university graduate in astronomy and astrophysics in 2000, he was president of the Tycho Brahé Astronomy Club in Annecy for 24 years, and offers observation evenings and lectures in the Rhône-Alpes region.
Philippe also shares his experience at photography workshops, where you can learn the techniques needed to create your own celestial landscapes, whether for an evening around Annecy, a weekend in France or a longer stay under the planet's most beautiful skies. These workshops are open to all enthusiasts wishing to discover or perfect their nocturnal photography techniques.
