Description

Explore life during the Renaissance and unravel the mysteries of the vanished medieval castle with games, observation and puzzles!

This fun and educational day uses observation, games and puzzles to explore Renaissance life and unravel the mystery of the vanished medieval castle.
The day is divided into two parts:
- morning: a captivating tour of the castle with our mediator, plus independent workshops.
- afternoon: a treasure hunt around the castle.

During the "Open your eyes" tour, children's sense of observation is called upon to find the clue-photographs presented by the mediator in the architecture and décor.
Clues are provided to help them reconstruct the history of the house and daily life during the Renaissance.
Then the independent workshops begin. There are 3 of them:
- Build your own castle. The aim is to use building blocks to construct a fortified castle, an emblematic example of medieval architecture.
- Draw your coat of arms. The aim is for children to create a coat of arms that resembles them, based on the heraldic codes of the Middle Ages. The booklet explains all the steps involved in creating a coat of arms.
- Animated films. The "1001 Moyen Âge" series is made up of short 3-4 min animated films on a variety of themes relating to the medieval period. They deal with architecture, daily life and the seigniorial court...

In the afternoon, the "Mysterious Stone" treasure hunt takes children on an archaeological discovery of the site of the former medieval castle.
During the last excavations, a stone with a mysterious symbol was found, but we don't know why. Thanks to clues scattered around the castle and on the medieval site, children will decode the message. A mystery to solve, while having fun with history.
