With a breathtaking view of the Semnoz and Parmelan mountains, Chapeiry is a rural and flowery commune where vines (before the 19th century) and tobacco (in the 20th century) were grown. Note the church of St Martin of Carolingian origin with its pre-Romanesque choir, its tufa vault (13th century) and its sculpted baptismal font.
