Annecy, the capital of Haute-Savoie, nestled on the shores of its lake in a mountainous setting, is known for the quality of its environment and its quality of life.

Benefiting from a remarkable site downstream from the lake, it has been able to maintain its architectural and historical heritage, rehabilitate its old districts, restore the transparency of the lake’s waters through work that is often cited as an example, and flourish its canals, to which it owes its name “Venice of the Alps”.

In 2017, Annecy expanded by merging with Annecy-le-Vieux, Cran-Gevrier, Meythet, Pringy and Seynod.
